So I am hanging out in my hotel room in Rochester, NY, and a Cadillac commercial came on the tube, there is a very mechanical voice speaking words sharply to some music and the last word is "technology". I have to add my ode to technology now...in traveling to several cities that I have never been to before, I would indelibly get lost, turned around, etc. while trying to follow printed directions on sheets of paper that I had printed off using some mapping software or website. Sometimes the directions would lead me in the complete opposite direction to begin with and finally 5-10 miles later I would realize that I am nowhere close to where I need to be because the road I am looking for should have come up miles ago. I would flip a U-Turn and head back the other way and spend the rest of the time following directions backwards in order to not get lost. Makes no sense.
Enter GPS. This year I upgraded to an everything plan with my cell phone provider and got GPS with my new phone. Ever since I got the phone I have been waiting to really give the GPS a test, and let me tell you it ROCKS!!!! I have had no problem finding anything since arriving two nights ago, especially the night I got in. I am really not into much of the new technology stuff, although I use them and appreciate them, but most of all I appreciate my GPS.

I can imagine a GPS is really nice, especially in some of those places out east where the roads were "paved over cattle tracks" according to some.
Sounds useful... I still live in the days where cell phones have only one feature: calling people. Maybe someday I'll be important enough to warrant getting GPS on my phone!
