Not necessarily my usual expression in regards to Las Vegas, but for this past trip I will use the Yeah Baby!!! I was in Vegas for a few days this past week for business meetings, mixed into a celebration gathering which included a great round of golf for me, and anyone else who chose golf over a tour of the Hoover Dam, a massage, or free time to hang out on the strip.
I was feeling quite nervous about the golf excursion, I am not a very regular player, and seeing everyones equipment (clubs, shoes, golf bags, club covers) made me more nervous. My equipment consists of a set of clubs purchased about 8 or 9 years ago on the cheap, and a bag to carry them in, nothing fancy. As I said, everyone else looked like they were gearing up for a great golf tournament. But in the end, I realized that just because I haven't made as much of an investment in the game didn't matter. We all had some good shots, some great shots, and some quite embarrassing shots (me teeing off on the first tee in front of the whole group, my ball went about 20 ft in the air and only 5 feet forward).
We played a scramble game in groups of 4, which basically, is taking the best shot of the 4 players and then everyone playing their ball from that spot, so on the first tee it didn't matter that my ball didn't leave the tee box area.
In the end my group ended up 2 under par, I was able to make a 5 ft putt on the 18th hole for birdie, one of the better shots on the day for me. It was just a lot of fun, and the weather was great too, high 80's and a little cloud cover to stop the sun from beating down on us.
The other days were good also, our meetings were quite interesting, and it was also good to see and meet some of the other people who work in other parts of the country, I don't get to work with other people often as I am the only one in Utah.
Other events of note in Vegas, I ate some Cantonese chicken chow mein from a restaraunt in the hotel, which didn't agree with me, I still don't feel fully well, and I took a spill out on Fremont Street as I was walking around watching the light show above.

I have heard rumors that golfing is a really enjoyable sport.
And you found something good to say about Vegas!
80's would be nice right about now.
