These are pictures from Palmyra, above is the Hill Cumorah Monument.

This is the Smith family home on their farm, it consists of two small rooms downstairs and one large room upstairs. There was a fireplace, and period furniture in the rooms. Just amazing how people lived with so many family members in such tight quarters. There is also another home, much bigger, that the family built and moved into, just up the road.

The pathway leading from the sacred grove. It was amazing to walk around the paths through the grove. Very beautiful. The spirit was very strong. I couldn't help but hum the hymn, Joseph Smiths First Prayer.

A view of the Smith farm.

This is an apple orchard. Hyrum had planted an apple orchard on the farm also. On all the small apple trees there are bags with Irish Spring soap tied to a branch, it keeps the animals from eating at the fruit.
I had planned on trying to get on a flight home after I finished up work, but there were no sure flights to get home, probably would have been in Chicago or DC airport for who knows how long, so I took the drive over to Palmyra. It was nice to actually have the time, energy, and enough motivation to get out and see some different things today. Normally, I am either too tired, or not sure of what is around to check out so I go eat dinner and hang out in my hotel room, but this was a good change.

How amazing. I like the part about the Irish Spring.
That is so amazing! Thanks for the picture text. I tried to call you to find out where you were, now I know. Beautiful! I'd love to go there sometime.
